How To Turn Off Last Seen On Instagram

Instagram is a platform where users are allowed to share photo and video with friends and loved ones. Owned by Facebook, it has become one of the most popular platforms for but celebrities and fans alike. Just like most social media platforms, Instagram has a feature that lets you seen the last time a user login his or her account. To many, this is a privacy issue and called for concern. Initially the feature wasn’t on Instagram, It was added a while back to make the platform more like Facebook and WhatsApp.

In this post, I will show you, how to disable, hide or turn off the last seen feature on Instagram. It works on both Android and iPhone, so you don’t have to worry about your device type. So without wasting anymore of your time, simply follow the steps below to deactivate the feature.

How to hide last seen in Instagram

• To get this done, first log into your instagram account, and then tap on your Profile picture located at the bottom-right corner of the screen.
• Next step is to tap on the three-dot menu button located at the top-right corner This will take you to the Options menu.

• Under the Options menu, scroll down till the Settings sub-menu appears. Under that, you will see a new option called ‘Show Activity Status‘ with a toggle button right next to it.

• With this button, you can turn on and off the last seen feature on Instagram.

Note: For Android users, turning off the Activity Status feature will not instantly hide last seen in Instagram. After you have turned off this feature, remove the Instagram app from ‘recent apps’ and re-open it.

Hiding or turning off this feature will prevent others from seeing when last you were active on Instagram and also prevent them from seeing when they were last active.
